6th Graders Teaching 1st Graders

6th grade students invited their 1st grade friends to come observe their plant experiments. The students are growing mung seeds in a jar with no soil or natural light. The 1st graders were able to analyze the growth and describe their observations by writing and drawing in the 6th grade Science Notebooks.  1st grader, Pacey, was excited to share, " The seeds are sprouting and they turned white! I never knew that could happen without soil, I wonder where the roots will go!"

Once the mung sprouts have reached maturity, the 6th and 1st graders will feed them to our chickens for a tasty, nutritious treat!
