4th and 5th graders in Ms. LeBarron tackled a team building activity utilizing the Engineering Design Process.
The Students' objective was to create the sturdiest "house" with only a stack of index cards and glue sticks that could withstand Hurricane LeBarron.
Through team work, reasoning, trial & error, and a lot of excitement these students came up with extremely creative homes that could withstand a "LeBarron hurricane" (Ms. LeBarron emulated a hurricane by blowing on each structure.) The students were engaged and showed a lot of enthusiasm as they completed this activity.

5th Graders Go Wild at Nantahala Outdoor Center
GREEN Charter's 5th grade students attended an overnight trip to the Nantahala Outdoor Center. They had an excellent trip white water rafting and hiking. The students received many compliments from the NOC guides on not only behavior but their intellect and curiosity about the Smokey Mountains. From battling Category I, II, and III rapids or a 4 mile hike in the Great Smokey Mountains, the students experienced a trip that will not be forgotten!
Thank you to all the parents and staff that made our NOC trip a huge success!
