GREEN's Middle School students held an Energy Carnival for all K-5 GREEN students on May 6th. It was a day filled with Renewable and Nonrenewable Energy Sources!
The middle schoolers taught elementary students in each classroom by presenting student created Google Slides about Energy Sources. The elementary students were then led by middle school student guides by taking them outside to the carnival. The carnival consisted of student devised games that focused on Renewable and Nonrenewable Energy. The games ranged from making solar bracelets, Energy Bingo, Bowling, Energy Math and Rocket launching. Greenville Soil and Water hosted a fun game, "Toss the Trash."
It was an incredible day of student led activities supporting the mission of GREEN Charter!

Kindergartners and Butterflies! A Green Steps Project
GREEN Kindergarten students are exploring Butterflies! They are observing the lifecycle in their classrooms while waiting for the amazing transformation from caterpillar to butterfly.
They have also discussed the role of butterflies in our ecosystem. On Friday, April 29th the students made Butterfly feeders by repurposing glass jars. The students were able to take the feeders home in order to hang them in their own yards.
